The Buddha Head in Sedona

Updated: Dec 4, 2021

Do you ever wonder why Sedona is full of mystical things? These collections of "rock heads" from my trips in Sedona may give you some answer. If not, simply enjoy them as natural sculptures that could inspire your imagination.

The above picture is taken at the West Fork of Oak Creek trail in Sedona. I was astonished by the large scale of the rocks along the creek that looks like sculptures of many vivid human "heads". When we reached the end of the trail and walked through a pool of water, a giant Buddha head appears right over the cliff which is really overwhelming.

below are some other pictures taken along the Oak Creek trail. Oak Creek is part of tributes of the Colorado River from Grand Canyon. I am not a professional photographer and all these photos are simply taken by iPhone without any edition.

"The Greeks did not believe that the gods created the universe. It was the other way about: the universe created the Gods. Before there were Gods, Heaven and Earth had been formed. They were the first parents. The Titans were their children, and the Gods were their grandchildren." -Mythology, Edith Hamilton.

"Sedona has developed a worldwide reputation as a place of enlightenment. Sedona has long been regarded as a place both sacred and powerful. It is a cathedral without walls. It is Stonehenge not yet assembled. People travel from all across the globe to experience the mysterious cosmic forces that are said to emanate from the red rocks... These are places where the earth seems especially alive with energy. Many people feel inspired, recharged or uplifted after visiting Sedona. (from visitsedona.com).

Following are more rock heads from other places in Sedona, such as Devil's Bridge, Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, etc.
